South Tyneside Young Carers Project has been delivering support to young carers and their families for 15 years, with the aim of improving their quality of life and reducing the risk of isolation.

We passionately believe that every young carer should be able to enjoy their childhood and have a supportive environment in which they can retreat from the pressures they often face.

Our team of experienced and caring staff work closely with local partners and schools to support young carers through a range of services including one to one support, family support and emotional support. We also provide recreational and respite activities including residential short breaks, after school clubs during term time and activities during school holidays. These services provide support that would otherwise not be available, contributing significantly to the health and wellbeing of those we support.

Join in our Active Carers Club.  Each month we have a 5K Medal Mad for our Young Carers and their families to get involved with, simply get walking, running, cycling, hopping or skipping your way to a 5k distance.

Join in our Adult Club for our registered families to engage in parent focused zooms, sessions and activities to take part in.   This Group will be a fun and friendly place for you all to enjoy. 
This is a chance to have conversations with one another and to  help us to build a community of support for other Young Carer Families.

Our arts and crafts activity packs contains 3 specially chosen projects for you to complete at home. With new activities each month there's a ton of fun to be had including; ceramic painting, wooden crafts, mache, decoupage, colouring and lots more.

Welcome to our OG Group which is for our  Older Young Carers 16 - 24. These activities are all based on what the  Older Young Carers would like to do and take part in.

Young Carer Activity
This is for our registered Young Carers age between 5 - 16.  This is where the activity will be led by a member of the TEN South Tyneside Young Carers Team. Parent and guardians are asked to drop off and collect their Young Carer to the location where the activity will be held.

Join in with our cookery club where each month we'll have 3 super tasty recipes for you to try out. From pasta bakes to fruity fritters, rocky road and so much more. Our cookery club packs will provide you with all the ingredients and instructions you'll need to have a ton of cooking fun at home.
