South Tyneside Young Carers Project has been delivering support to young carers and their families for 15 years, with the aim of improving their quality of life and reducing the risk of isolation.

We passionately believe that every young carer should be able to enjoy their childhood and have a supportive environment in which they can retreat from the pressures they often face.

Our team of experienced and caring staff work closely with local partners and schools to support young carers through a range of services including one to one support, family support and emotional support. We also provide recreational and respite activities including residential short breaks, after school clubs during term time and activities during school holidays. These services provide support that would otherwise not be available, contributing significantly to the health and wellbeing of those we support.

TEN South Tyneside Young Carers

DO YOU ENJOY WATER? We will be joining our friends at Simonside Climbing Wall to enjoy a morning of Paddleboarding this summer. Paddle boarding is a popular water sport where participants stand on a board and use a paddle to navigate through the water. Please ensure your child wears appropriate clothing for this activity and should come with their swim suits, towel and warm clothes for afterwards, we recommend you bring along a drink too. Transport is not included for the event however if you are trouble to get to the venue, please let us know and we advise you the best way to get there. Please note parents/guardians will be required to drop off and collect children from the venue.

Young Carer Activity
This is for our registered Young Carers age between 5 - 16.  This is where the activity will be led by a member of the TEN South Tyneside Young Carers Team. Parent and guardians are asked to drop off and collect their Young Carer to the location where the activity will be held.
