South Tyneside Young Carers Project has been delivering support to young carers and their families for 15 years, with the aim of improving their quality of life and reducing the risk of isolation.

We passionately believe that every young carer should be able to enjoy their childhood and have a supportive environment in which they can retreat from the pressures they often face.

Our team of experienced and caring staff work closely with local partners and schools to support young carers through a range of services including one to one support, family support and emotional support. We also provide recreational and respite activities including residential short breaks, after school clubs during term time and activities during school holidays. These services provide support that would otherwise not be available, contributing significantly to the health and wellbeing of those we support.

TEN South Tyneside Young Carers

To kick off 2026, we will coming together to enjoy some delicious food whilst catch up with each other ! This event is strictly for our registered young carers aged 16-24 years old. Please note that it is the responsibility of the young adult carers to make their own way to and from the venue. A refreshment will be providing during this activity. If you would like more information about our young adult carers, please contact the activity team via text.
