South Tyneside Young Carers Project has been delivering support to young carers and their families for 15 years, with the aim of improving their quality of life and reducing the risk of isolation.

We passionately believe that every young carer should be able to enjoy their childhood and have a supportive environment in which they can retreat from the pressures they often face.

Our team of experienced and caring staff work closely with local partners and schools to support young carers through a range of services including one to one support, family support and emotional support. We also provide recreational and respite activities including residential short breaks, after school clubs during term time and activities during school holidays. These services provide support that would otherwise not be available, contributing significantly to the health and wellbeing of those we support.

TEN South Tyneside Young Carers

Who loves animals!! Our young carers are invited to an Animal Experience this half term. It is a special opportunity to relax, unwind and connect with some amazing animals! This hands-on session will give young carers the chance to meet, handle and learn about a variety of friendly animals in a calm and supportive environment. From gentle cuddles to fascinating animal facts, the morning is designed to boost wellbeing, build confidence and create joyful memories. Transport is not included for the event however if you are trouble to get to the venue, please let us know and we advise you the best way to get there. Please note parents/guardians will be required to drop off and collect children from the venue.
